You would think people would follow the rules of the post office you speak of, but it's the post office and that just simply doesn't happen. At least not at my plant

If you have no relation to the truck owner, and aren't getting paid correctly, report the truck owner. You will get back pay for the entire time you have been driving for them.

I'm an actual postal driver, so it doesn't affect me. All the contact drivers I know don't care, for whatever reason they have no issue being 1099'd as long as they get there money at the end of each month.

I concur with this statement. The PO is no different from any other government agency. They are corrupt as ####.

I've seen transportation managers get walked off and suspended (EAS employee's don't get fired, they tend to just transfer these mofo's to other barns unless OIG is involved) for taking bribes, giving contracts to family members, and other unmentionables.

Contract routes at my barn are always being taking over on a regular basis because they keep on being late with deliveries. Unless they have a late slip, it's written down as "contractor failure". You get too many of those and your gone. Then comes Joe Blow trucking taking over the contract and they also wind up being late as well...then they lose the contract and then comes Joe Suck trucking...and it's a never ending process. Joe Suck may lose the contract and then it goes right back to Joe Blow for whatever reason. Maybe Joe Blow blew harder than Joe Sucked. And everytime we see these new contractors taking over, we joking say that they must of paid off more than the other guy to get the contract.

The PO has all kinds of illegal activity going on that goes against the code of ethics vow that we all swear by. Supervisors, Managers, Postmasters, MDO, Plant Managers, Craft Employee's, etc., it doesn't matter who they are or what government agency they work for. There's ALWAYS corrupt and illegal activity going on...and it's no different with the PO. That's why we have our own OIG with federal agents (Postal Inspector's) that are basically our version of the FBI and our own police force (Postal Police) who are federal cops. And they are constantly investigating corrupt and illegal activities at the PO. Remember Beam Bros? Yeah...it was special agents from the PO OIG that built a case against them.
