Wow seawheeler you just expressed exactly what happened to hubby in Jan. microwave and APU would be great. He got all the "goodies" for Christmas and still can't use them. He was told the same thing when he asked about having an inverter put in.

The fleet message went out on exactly what macro's to use to let them know the condition of the trailers.
-
Like the good book says all good things come to those who wait too bad it doesn't say how long it have to wait. Hopefully it won't be too long. Wish you the best.
JimTheHut and seawheeler Thank this. -
they won't do #### about it, that was one of my top 5 peeves while I was there, drop a perfectly good trailer for someone else's mess.
if I had a dollar for every time I melted someone's phone receiver over junk trailers...... -
They are doing something about it, cheese. It's been a hot topic of discussion in NLR for a bit now.
sewerman Thanks this. -
it had been a topic for discussion for years there, but that's it.
I know for a fact more than half the fleet was raising mortal hell over trailers being dropped with major issues.
one big repair issue can murder the productivity of an entire week, I picked up a trailer once from Butler Mnfg, across from the Laurenburg terminal, with two flats/damaged wheels, missing mudflap, and 3 non-op lights. Blew a whole day on repairs, and wound up with 1200 or 1400 for the week for miles....and didn't get home.
I really hope they fix the issue, I know for a fact it sucked. -
They'll hate it when I refuse a trailer, then. I'll take a bus ticket home before taking on someone else's problems knowingly. They want to pay me $25/hr in lost productivity then we'll talk.

company i work for has a policy; each trailer u hook to, u fill out a trailer inspection report when u pick it up & when u drop it (takes less than 5 minutes to do it). if u p/u a trailer needing repairs, let dispatch know, they let safety know & safety looks @ who pulled trailer last. did driver fill out inspection with needed repairs? did they let dispatch know? if so, ok no problem, driver gets paid $25/hour for having to get trailer fixed; but, if driver didn't let dispatch know & he dropped it @ customer whether dispatch told him to do so or driver didn't want to take time to get it fixed, driver then get's charged $25/hour for repairs & it goes to driver who p/u trailer needing it. since that policy has been put in place; alot fewer trailers are being dropped & p/u with problems. working well doing it like this.

I am all for that. made a similar suggestion to JC about that. At least with the new macro they're trying to change and take care the problem. -
I am not going to give up a great job because of some lazy driver....I will call in a breakdown macro and have them come and fix it. If it takes a day to fix I will put in for breakdown pay and will get it. I got it while Laurinburg spent a whole day trying to fix an abs on the trailer. I got paid the breakdown pay and they did not even argue with me.
Unloaded that trailer and put it on a trailer that they had sitting there that I picked out.
Good jobs are too hard to find. I know it is a pain in the but, but working for a bad company is much worse.sewerman, Evil_E and plentygood Thank this.
