No, we don't go home 'cuz our kids are men in their 30's, so instead of sitting in an empty nest, we are on the road.

Most drivers want to get home, so they try to train with or get hired on to a company as near to home as they can. It's impossible to a company to get you home on a routine basis is your home is a couple hundred miles away...but I've talked to guys who have even figured out how to make that work.

Every driver gets to make his own decisions because he has to consider his own situation and goals.
None of us on this board will or want to make those decisions for you 'cuz it' your life, not ours.

So if you want to go with May, then go with May. Try not to jump to conclusions based on what other people are doing. You'll see a lot of us here that ask for facts so we can help you know what information you need to make those decisions. Someone may say, don't work for so and so, but so and so may get you home every week and have a nice health plan for your family.

Ultimately, you'll find that there are 50 different variables you need to consider in who you drive for, but I can almost guarantee that no driver will have the same top 20 priorities.

If May trucking offers dedicated or regional (which a lot of carriers do), then that might be your cup of tea. Besides having an empty nest, I could give you 10 reasons for us to be out all the time, but none will get posted here...too personal, but feel free to PM me and I'll share a little more.
