I was thinking maybe the trainers could start a 'network' for 'support?'
I have struggled getting through to my last two students, and sometimes could really use some advice from fellow trainers, or even a sounding board to air frustrations.

    Thoughts on this idea?

I know I can't be the only one staring at a student thinking "HOW DO I GET THIS CONCEPT THROUGH TO THEM?" I don't like to see anyone fail, and am constantly amazed at how little some of these schools teach them! Any helpful advice is welcome.

So..how about it? Maybe post up "I'm a trainer, PM me for help..." something like that? Then maybe PM each other phone numbers? I have #s from a few fellow trainers already...

There is a new trainer payscale coming to incentivise a more thorough training, so let's work together to make better drivers, and EARN that better pay. That IS why we are here, no?

It's bad enough seeing other drivers do stupid things, cut you off, screw you over somehow....it's even worse when it's a fellow May driver! Most of that is from poor training. I personally teach my students how to coexist on the road with other drivers, as well as how to live on the road. We're all on the same team here, let's work TOGETHER!!

I gave up training, it wasn't for me. I prefer doing this on my own. I wanted to do it when I started it, but became frustrated when I only had 2 students solo and everyone else quit. One quit on his solo day. I always had something get broke, or lost. No respected my stuff.

My last student was a smart kid, but he had an issue with alcohol. He went looking for it whenever we stopped early enough and would come back WAY!!! late. Then the suspicion was confirmed when he dropped from the top a plactic bag almost on my head and there was an empty tall boy can in it. He wanted it back desperately and that's when I noticed what it had in it and the smell of stale beer that came out of it. he tried to tell me it was mouth wash and expected me to believe it. he's lucky we were going back to Denver or I would've kicked him off the truck that night.

This is hot off the qual-comm hot line, from Robyn in Denver.
Good day trainers!! This is just a little note to let you know that it's official.. The trainer pay changes on 11/1/11 (tomorrow). Starting tomorrow we will no longer be paying the 2 cents a mile for all miles driven with the student on board and a $300 bonus if that student soloes to a flat 10 cents a mile for all miles driven with student on board with you. The 10 cents a mile be paid out with each trip scanned instead of waiting until that student soloes. If you currently have a student on board now, the hr director said he'd pay out which ever benefited you the most. I hope this comes as good news for all of you!
    Straight off the Qual-comm.

Would one of you tell me how long you are out with a trainer. Is the time set in stone or if you feel the new driver is ready to go out can you notify the company and tell them you think he or she is ready?

1-6 weeks is the general rule that I have seen on here. Average is 3 weeks. If you are ready after two the trainer can cut you loose.
