I Graduated CDL School At The End Of April. Went On To Get My Doubles/Triples Than Passed Hazmat Now Waiting On Background Check.Clean DMV Record... It Is Now Finally Time To Break Into The Industry... It's Been A Long Long Journey To Get To This Point... Any Way I Had A Mega Recruiter Come To The School Liked What They Had To Offer We All Gave Our Names And Email And Phone # On A Sheet Of Paper .. Standard Procedure...Was Contacted Via Email And Voice Mail However At That Time I Was Not Ready Yet So I Didn't Respond Out Of Respect Of Not Wanting To Waste Anyone's Time....Wanted To Make Sure Things Were Secure On The Home Front With My Ol Lady , Get My Endorsements And A New Resume Plus 7vrl Signed Letters For Employment History Verification... Making Sure I Was Prepared.... Anyway I Wrote A Nice Email To The Recruiter Who Originally Emailed Me Out Of Respect To Him.... He Wrote Me Back Said He Was Going To Transfer Me To A Female Recruiter Who Would Be In Touch ... Immediately I Received A Pre Written Emailer Letter From Her With A App Link...Never Seen Nothing Like It.... I Am New To This... It Was Like 14 Pages Long.. Got Halfway Thru It And It Froze Couldn't Move Forward Or Back.. So I Refreshed It Took Me Back To The Beginning....Called Her And Left A Message... No Call Back... Next Day She Called Left A Message That I Had Only Summitted A Partial App....NOT True.. I Never Summited That App...Emailed Her And She Sent Me A New Link And I Proceeded....Their Were 2 Areas On The App In Regards To A 10 Year Employment History...I Put Current 2+ Years Self-And My Lawn Service Name...The Other 8 Years Self-Caregiver ... All True,..At The End Of The App..Their Was All Kinds Of Checkmarks I Had To Check All Legal Stuff Then Digitally Signed With My Computer Mouse..Never Seen Nothing Like This.... Like I Said I Am New To This... Last App I Filled Out Was In !989. Between All This I Had Called Her And Left Messages But Never Got Al Call Back....So Anyway I Successfully Completed It... However Their Was No Place To Attach My Resume... My DMV Record...Or My Employment/Reference Letters... Next Day Friday She Emails Me With 2 Snapshots Of The Employment Part Of The App Asking # 1 Do I Have A Business License For The Lawn Care ? And # 2 Did I Work For A Caregiver Service Company For The Previous Years ?....I Emailed Her Back Explaining No I Do Not Have A Business License Because It Was Never My Intent To Grow A Big Lawn Care Business It Was Just A Way To Keep Busy With The Real Intent Of Being A OTR Trucker And As Far As Being A Caregiver That Was For A Family Member Who Has Since Passed Away In 2019..I Further Explained I Have A Will Along With Signed Documentation To Verify All This Info If Needed Along With A Resume And My DMV Records ... OK HERE WE GO...1 Hour Later Like 4.45 Pm On Friday She Emails Me Saying....I'm Sad To Inform You We Can't Move Forward Because This Mega Requires 10 Years Of Employment....Well I Almost Had A Heart Attack... Completely Numb....She Never Asked Me If I Could Prove Anything Nor Did We Ever Have A Phone Conversation /Interview To Give Me A Opportunities To Explain Etc.....Anyway I Immediately Emailed Her Back Stating #1 Attach Is My Resume #2 Attach Is My DMV Records #3Attach Is My Proof Of Employment For The Past 10 Years All Pdf Files... Please Note My Resume Goes Back To 1989....Today Is Sunday...She Never Responded ....Please Understand I Have Lived A Long Life I Worked For A Major Corp For 15 Years In The Trucking Distribution Department ..At One Time I Was A Back Up Crew Leader Of 180 Men And Woman Etc...Long History Have Done Interviews .. Hired And Fired People ...With That Being Said.....I Have Never Seen Such A Messed Up Process In My Life....I Feel This Lady Does Not Know Her Job Very Well.....So To All The Professional Truck Drivers On This Forum/ Friends And Brothers My Question Is.....What Do I Do From Here ?....Do I Contact The Previous Recruiter ?Do I Just Give Up On This Mega Because Of A Incompetent Recruiter ? Do I Try To Get In Touch With The HR Department Because I Think This Recruiter Will Never Summit My Info To Them /HR ? I Think I've Been Railroaded In This Process......This Company Needs Driver's And I Think This Recruiter Is Doing Them A Huge Disservice Throwing Me Aside With NO Real Due Process ......... A lot Of My Lawn Business I Do For A Local Real Estate Company That I Worked For As A Realtor Years Ago...Now I Mow Paint Etc When Tenants Move Out....I Think This Is A Technicality...Because Technically If I Do Something For Someone At That Moment I Am Working For Them.....Same Thing With My Family Member As A Caregiver Technically I Worked For Him Those 8 Years... Maybe That's The Way I Should Have Put It On The App..I Can Update My Resume To Reflect That As Well Either Way It's ALL The Truth ...I Guess The Most Important Part Is I Have Never Been Not Working....All Your Advise Is Extremely Important To Me And Very Much Appreciated.... I Didn't Come This Far On This Long Journey Just To Get The Door Shut In My Face ....Thank You All For Your Time... I Know This Was A Lot To Read...Thanks !!

Many many truck co's out there to apply with. Your lawn and caregiver business aren't documented income the way you explain it. Also, a lot of recruiters are 3rd party recruiters. Which means they can't run down the hallway to the safety guy and attempt to get you hired. You will get hired by someone......

Have you ever went out to a restaurant and see people sitting at the very same table in complete silence, but texting each other? IMO, it’s absolutely stupid but that’s the way that the megas work.

“Hi, we could not process your application because you forgot to dot an “i” on page 14, paragraph 3. So, we are waiting for our “i” dot officer to determine whether or not that was an “i” or an “I” or a “1”. This process may take up to 6 weeks. Thank you in advance for your patience.”

And the person that wrote you the email is sitting in the next cubicle from the person who has to get back to you. Imagine what happens when they don’t get your money right on your pay. Or your truck breaks down and you need someone in Breakdown to answer the ##### phone and or make a decision.

Are you sure that you want to be a part of that circus?

Yes Totally Agree 100% This New World Is Full Of Incompetent People....See It Everyday.... And Yes I Am Ready To Deal With The Craziness Of The Trucking Industry .... Every Job No Matter What It Is Always Has It's Challenges .... We All Need To Do Something And I'm Not Making A Whole Lot Mowing And Painting Etc Or Paying Into SS....And Going Back To The Real Estate Business As A Realtor I Could Do Tomorrow .... But's It's 100% Commission With Lots Of Added Fees Etc..... I Look Forward To This New Adventure..... Been Blue Collar Most Of My Life And Prefer It That Way... Thanks TripleSix
