Has anyone converted a condo to a mid roof or flat top on a classic?

Some people have even converted guys into girls and girls into guys. What is the point? Is there a contest of what is the most amount of capital I can spend on a bad idea? Wouldn't it just be easier to go to the dealer, order a new truck, spec it the way way you want, and demand to pay top dollar? It sounds the same as backing up the titanic and hitting the iceberg a second time , or even worse voting for OweBama twice. Just my honest opinion .

Ok, I should not have said the previous statement, I hope it does not get deleted. I forgot no politics, I apologize.

I cant think of a logical reason to spend money like that. I would love to hear some justifications for this mod?

It's pricey but you can do it for free, just look for a 10'5" bridge and go under it..........wa la, instant mid roof or flat top with a panoramic sunroof.

Yep then cover the hole with some plexiglass from home depot, seal it with duct tape and you are set. lol

I don't want to sound like a prick but I didn't ask for input on the economics of my idea I asked if it can be done a classic condo is worth next to nothing around here because we have low clearance for loading hoppers I can buy a nice condo for 8 to 10k less and if I can convert it for less than tjatit sounds like a good idea to me

I have never had to put a big truck in a body shop but Im betting they prob charge you a couple grand just to pull into the parking lot. 8-10k divided by cost/time/and potential issues later such as leaks make me think its more trouble than the money you would save.

If he is switching from van/reefer to tanker is one reason (that is why we did it), there are several loading racks that have less than 13 ft. of clearance, I've been to a couple that are less than 12 ft. high. If he is pulling a flat bed/drop deck maybe he wants to save a little fuel/weight. Maybe he just likes the way a flat top/mid-roof looks. But I can't think of any logical reason for him to justify anything to anyone, it his truck he can do what ever he want's. There are several reasons to do this, but it is very labor intensive, and if he can't/won't do the work himself then it will probably be cost prohibitive.
