So yesterday, I went and got my doubles/triples and tanker endorsement. I’m waiting on my birth certificate to come in today and I’ll go apply for my hazmat. My question is (it might be stupid obvious), on the application I noticed yesterday it has 2 options:

Hazmat and Hazmat with tanker. I just want to make sure I select the right one.
Again sorry if that’s a dumb question. Thanks y’all

    tscottme Thanks this.

This is not something you control. If you have Tankers the DMV will give you an X endorsement. Stop worrying about this and make sure you are ready to take that hazmat test!

I've heard a lot dumber questions in my life. Some of them were asked while I was talking to myself.

Here is why you want the Haz Mat with tankers endorsement - if you pick up a load of totes ( the square plastic tanks used by printing companies and other industries) you are required to have a tanker endorsement.

That’s what I figured. And I already got my tanker endorsement. So it’s just hazmat now. I just noticed it yesterday when I was doing my tanker and double/triple tests.

So if I understand correctly, the the hazmat with tanker would be if I didn’t have the tanker endorsement?

Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between an Haz-Mat with tankers endorsement and a simple X endorsement?
