Mil light on for few seconds

    I did some repairs on my truck, fixed 2 fault codes and other staff. My question is simple when I turn the ignition on the amber solid light comes on and stays on for a few seconds, then goes off. My guess is that is telling me it got stored faults in memory. I don't have a computer so I can't clear old codes, they went away after the fix but I got curios.

    Normal. Every truck has an automatic self test function at key on. The MIL light is suppose to come on for a few seconds as a bulb and system test and then go out if no problems are detected.
