So a lot of operators have put mini split AC systems on/in their sleepers and run on a generator.
I have said generator, and have grown tired of the subpar performance of the Paccar "smart air" 12vDC mini split.
I don't watch tv, and rather than take up the space underbunk, I am considering a small 110vAC mini split and hold the interior evaporator with the TV mount. Most small mini splits that advertise weights say about 25lbs for the interior unit.
If I remove the pivoting arm and make a mount for the unit to bolt direct to the sleeper frame using the bosses for the TV mount, would it hold up? Thoughts?

Can you post a pic of the TV mount? All of the cheap mini splits are residential units with copper lines. However you mount it those lines have got to be rigidly mounted, forever. They won't stand much moving around before they kink/leak etc.

If I'm understanding you correctly seems like you could probably do this easiest by mounting a piece of plywood to the TV mount and the unit to it, if you can get it solid enough. My mini split interior unit is only about 2.5' long, maybe 3. It's a 9k btu, the smallest common one.

If I remove the small arm that used to attach to the tv, and just use the main mounting structure, It is quite strong IMO.

Yep, seems like that would work. Or you could just remove the whole thing and use the holes in the wall from the TV mount to mount the mini split bracket. They all come with a mounting plate. I might still put a piece of 3/4" plywood between the wall and the plate though.
