So i bought 4 interstate cca flooded batteries. My truck has an apu so I got 4 deep cycle marine batteries rated at 800 cca. Didn’t know that it was all one system and all the batteries are connected. I can’t return the deep cycle since returning period expired. Will truck run fine or will I kill the batteries?
Well they called marine batteries but they are just deepcycle with high CCA. Good for boats or RV. I figured they will run APU. But didn’t know all 8 batteries were connected.
8 batteries? Why 8? Just having an apu doesn't justify 8. On some big bunk sleepers like mine they might have house batteries that are charged by the generator or the truck but they are separated by an isolator.
Place an isolator in between deep cycle and truck batteries, or at very least a low voltage cutout if it doesnt have it, deep cycle is prefered on hotel loads. Not doing any real harm unless deep cycles never get fully charged
