Husband uses Musinex. Chicken soup with pepper helps to thin mucus, any type they say. Zicam is good when you first notice a cold starting, every 3 - 4 hours till it clears up, it has zinc in it. Try some herbal or regular tea with honey and lemon in it. Vicks Vapo rub, make sure you keep chest covered with this.

It could be some type of virus that you have if it is not clearing up well. Try to keep from getting overheated or out in extreme cold.

Mucinex is amiracle drug, but if it persists for more than about three and a half weeks, four weeks, it'll be time for a trip to the urgent care for some drugs. I had a cough for six weeks last year before antibiotics finally knocked it out.

    SinuFix. http://www.amazon.com/NaturalCare-S...8&qid=1415017426&sr=8-2&keywords=sinufix+mist

Saw this stuff at a health food store in Seal Beach, CA recently. Didn't want to pay the $25 so ordered it from Amazon and had it sent home to Indiana. Had a cold that lingered, cough that just would not go away. Have had problems like this a lot in the past. Upper chest and nasal congestion.

    Stuff works.

Neti pot (http://www.webmd.com/allergies/sinus-pain-pressure-11/neti-pots) helped a lot, difficult on the road. It's like a small teapot and you mix medicinal grade salt and medicinal grade baking soda with warm water. Pour in one nostril, comes out the other. Bad stuff comes out. Cleans your sinuses up.

Chest congestion often results from drainage from your sinuses while you sleep. Goes into your upper lungs/chest and can become chronic bronchitis from long-term inflammation.

Don't need my neti pot since I've started SinuFix. Feel stuffy, take a capsule with water. Clears me right up. Has a variety of organics and provides vitamin A, C, B-6, B-5, Calcium and Zinc. Nettle leaf extract (Quercitin which is used elsewhere to help chemo patients recover), Bromelan, Garlic, Oregano, Grapefruit seed, Peppermint leaf, Butturbur root, Astaxanthin (who knows?).

Kimchee Chigae (spicy Korean soup). Works every time.

It's kind of the same thing when I was crying because I'd scraped my knee. My brother hit me on the head. Then I really started crying. "Well, now your knee doesn't hurt, does it?"

sounds gross. but keep it all out. spitting extra mucus may not be very appealing to most, but it will do the job and get rid of it sooner than later. don't swallow that garbage

Vitamin C and Zinc pills. I take one of each a day, soon as I start feeling yucky. Also, the c-boost smoothie by Bolthouse Farms. You can get those at Kroger and Walmart. Easy with it though, very very vitamin packed and will upset the tummy if drank too fast.
