I agree with you, you need people no matter what you do trucking was a dive at removing myself away from issues. The proof on my phone isn't usable for anything serious the stuff on my DAC I have paperwork about but it's been removed already and Indiana doesn't have favorable laws about right to work so not much to fight about. It's one thing I feel other states don't see eye to eye with here because job changing is very common here. I know quite a few reliable and intelligent people who've cycled through alot of jobs just from happenings not choice or being fired. The Idea here is to start your own business but even that is competitive with how many people feel the same way about jobs here. I find it ironic I told a driver from Dicom to get into courier delivery for extra income. Since everyone left the job he got a $5 raise at $28 an hour. He's only with the company for his family. He took my suggestion seriously and got a delivery route with xpo as a secondary business. Just stating the point the mindset with jobs here is the same others just have different motives for staying. Myself, I know too much, dont have any ties, and hit too many bad companies starting out. Say what you will but many drivers I came across warned me about each of those companies prior and after Starting out I didn't have much choice. My great uncle a 40 year driver told me celadon out the get go was a sketchy operation, "get in, get out, there's better". Not saying things don't work for people anyone can make due but a lot of that goes with what motivates you and what you need.
At this point I know I'm a good driver. I'm not the best but I know the job I can handle the job. I just dont have patience for lies and having my time wasted. Gets under my skin hearing trucking isn't for me but seeing how often the bs comes with it I'd have to agree I'm honest and old fashioned. I can handle chaos because I've lived through it but I prefer consistency. That's another irony, there aren't many jobs here worth being loyal to. One job I tried to be with was Eli Lily as a painter and after 6 months of work they laid everyone off because of idiot welders getting chemicals in their eyes. I do have a habit of getting in ####ty scenarios but Indiana is a big factor in my experiences so far and the way the job market as a whole is changing its pretty hard to keep a good background even when you do everything right. Quite a few scam jobs about lately, hard enough when you work at a job and for 8 months to maintain something but have to explain the work history because they are disorganized as all hell.
