As much as I would rather it be older:
2009 KW T800
62" flattop sleeper
244" wheel base
46k lb rear end with 4.10 gear ratio
600hp/2050 ft lbs torque Cummins
18 speed double overdrive transmission
And the best part is that I will probably be getting this truck in a few months

I am probably going to get bashed but here it goes:
Volvo VT880 or 730 D16-600HP w/I shift
3.42 ratio
20in TV, DVD Player
Cruise, AC, Power Steering
Hydraulic Winch
Stidd Chairs
Custom paint job -
Hey Coyner, that WS in your signature is pretty sweet looking; just curious why you'd want a KW?
BTW, the one you described is pretty sweet, but I'd rather get an '09 glider and then shake it with a 3406E or an N14. Basically the best of both worlds- nice ride and no troublesome EGR or DPFs.
KH, Volvos are nice trucks, but their electrical systems can be a real Pain in the Arse. The Challenger Thanks this. -
Wallbanger, you are very true; however, with most of the trucks comming off production these engines have very little problems compared to a W with a new ACERT Cat. The ISX's are doing ok in my opinion; however, Volvos seem to be more reliable.

Sounds like you like your Volvo. I'm really interested to know what you think about the 780 because I'm thinking it's a well designed, driver friendly truck and I'm interested in trading into one, maybe. Still struggling with kicking my lifelong Hood Addiction... Anyway, I see some nicely spec'd 04's and 05's on the market.

I would have to stick to my Western Star as its the only true ""made in USA"" truck over here (KW made in Austraila)
W/S dealer over here has the one I want, much as the same as I already have.
2008 Western Star 4964 FX
600 C-16 ( last new one in NZ)
18 R/R
46-160 4:33 rears
Day cab
Heavy haul spec (150 tonne)
Anyway Coyner I would stick with that Star it looks sharp -
Mark,
There are some good used nicely spec'd VT880's. Except they are priced a little high; However, if you have money the dealer will most likely go down if they want that truck sold. My friend has a ex Werner T6 that he got with 300K for 70K. I would have paid only 50-55K.
Thats the reason I love volvos as you get a good safe truck for good money. See my pm.

Hey 830 I hear you- I went to the MATS show in Louisville (in 06) and got to sit in a bunch of trucks; the WS I got into had an awesome interior. Granted, it was a road tractor- not a heavy haul daycab (like you use and would like), but it was still sweet.
The other truck I have to add to my list is a T660- there is something about an aero truck that I just like (probably my sensible side telling me I'll save fuel...). I have driven a Volvo (a VNL670), and I loved that truck. The only problems I had:the electrical system can be problematic, and the air horn doesn't activate with a lanyard- it's where your car's horn is (honk the airbag). Since I tend do use the steering wheel as a desktop, I ended up honking the airhorn at some very unfortunate times! The Challenger Thanks this.
