Kind of an apple to orange comparison. What application they're being used for is what's going to make the difference. If you're running the western 11 grossed out to 80k constantly, you'd want the N-14. In a easy line haul operation, the M-11 would probably work out for you. Both engines can be set to different HP. and Torque applications.

The M11 became the ISM. It’s a 10.9 L engine vs 14 L. Much better mileage with the M11 for whet we do. Two days ago I grossed 85k from Alex bay, NY to Lancaster, PA in a 1998 T800 and got 5.8 mpUSg On Canadian winter blend. Northbound I grossed 31000. Avg 57 mph. 4.33 rear gear its a screamer and you won’t be first to the top of the hill

Also it’s a light engine I’m not sure I would want an M11 in the snow unless I have a set back axle. I have to slide my 5th wheel fwd to keep from pushing through intersections into the guard rail.....this crowds my headache rack and step deck frame.

Leaks oil from everywhere..... front acc drive cover, oil pan, rear main seal, wiring harness grommet at the rear of the head, air compressor mounting hole...all this and I still don’t add oil with a 12k interval

Uhhhh........no. I don’t believe there are such trucks in real life only BS from Malinson and Rutherford and we all know how copying them works out.

Perhaps not grossing 85k in the Appalachians might help but then it’s hard to get paid for hauling nothing

The more HP the less torque the more fuel it spends??

I have a 6.7L Powerstroke in an F550 Ford that is LUCKY to see 9 mpg. There is no way you're going to get double digits in a tractor trailer (or even in just a straight tractor).

You are correct on the NTC. I had NHC on my mind because I've been working on my brother's NHC250 lately.

NHC 250 was a big boy in it's day, used to be the standard engine in a Transtar CO4070A. All 250's were naturally aspirated, but some guys would put a turbo on them, and get a little more umpf. Had to be careful with the fuel pressure,no piston coolers. NHC 250's were a big improvement over the old NH 220's.Completely different engines.
Cummins also made a Super 250 back in the day, oddball, only ever saw one. Was 927ci,instead of the standard 855. Never caught on.
