Hi everyone,
I would like your advice. My husband works as O/O leased to one ON company. He did have an accident 2 days ago - he had to stop on side of road and this road broke down. All his trailer was 45 degrees inclined all night, police officers called towing service get him back on road, but they could not help, they needed call second towing truck for help etc. Pretty heavy rain, very big chance he will turn on side to the river next to road ... everybody has tons of time for everything .... but finally they helped. That cost him 1300. What I am trying find out, if we can claim this from insurance company. He did not get any ticket, so I suppose they did not think that it was his fault. Appreciate any advice, thank you.

The Deductible would be higher than the tow bill.

With insurance often times a claim is a claim no matter if you file a claim for $1300 or one for $250,000. IF you claim this and in a few years something REALLY big happens and you need to claim truck, trailer, cargo, they may drop you altogether. For this low amount you are best to just bite the bullet.

As PB said the deductible will be higher than the tow bill. It wouldn't be worth it as I could easily see them now justifying a $1300 rate increase over the next few years to recoup. Truck insurance isn't the most competitive industry.
