Without calling out anyone in particular, I wonder how many drivers out there would not be willing to change out a light bulb because of concerns about liability, but would readily go to town on the ECM with a paper clip and a soldering iron because some YouTube trucker said they could get the truck to idle that way.

    lonewolf4ad and Gunner75 Thank this.

OK so you use that on that sensor but then as someone with the software, I can look at the air intake temps to see if it is the same.

    And?

It's called plausible deniability, he didn't mess with any sensors, he didn't change any settings, all he has to do is claim that he doesn't know what could cause the temperature differences

I wedge my tire thumper between the seat and throttle, raising the RPM just a little.
It usually works for between 1/2 and 1 hour, if I don't get the idle too high.
If I raise the idle too high, like 1,000+, it will shut off after about 15-20 minutes. Around 750-800 seems to work just fine.

On my 12 and 13 It was like that, the sensor for the dash was near the radiator support, but the ambient temp for the shutdown was behind the fifth wheel inside the left frame rail. in the 2016 I have now, it is all through one sensor, and is at the bottom of the left mirror housing.
