My frame is in pretty bad shape on my 06 KW T600. I've got one shop telling me I need to do an entire cut off from about the center of the cab back. They are quoting me $5000 to $6000. I've had other places telling me that welding and plating it would be fine. This would obviously be a much cheaper solution. Id like some advice from anyone who has had a similar problems or any mechanics who do, or have done frame work like this before. It's just as bad on both sides Thanks for your help.

Holy cow that's bad. Don't think I've ever seen one with holes through it. You're going to get 10 different opinions on here about what to do. Are there other spots that are just as bad or is it only in one spot. I would imagine the rest is in bad shape too even if you can't see it. Behind suspension hangers and such. If you plan to keep the truck I'd fix it up right. Or bandage it and sell

I just welded some 3/8 plate on my spread axle trailer last week. I did the entire 5th wheel plate last year, King pin and all.

Find a junk yard and a welder. Measure and have some frame rail cut. $200-$300 maybe. Find a welder that knows what there doing and pay him maybe $1000-$1500 maybe and your set
