thinking of going to schneider since they have a terminal about 65 miles from me, i wanna run out west ( im in nc) do they force you to go north east? id also like to avoid miami lol ive worked out on the road delivering furniture ( not driving) wantin to get into driving but id like to stay out of miami and the mountains around nc if possible, will they let me do what i want or do i need to man up and be a real man as my dad would say? looking for a gig where i can be out 3-4 weeks and home 3-4days then do it all over agian. have no wife, kids or anything holding me back. just sitting back dreaming of the day i can buy me a tractor and trailer with cash and work for myself. and anyone whos took a tractor on 64 west through the mountains, how the heck did you do it we had trouble getting a box truck up there.

Company drivers go where they are sent. ICs follow the money.

Go where you have to go as long as it is safe and legal. Write out your plan and what it takes to get there...then follow it! No shortcuts!!

I think most drivers would tell you that having a terminal close to home is of little or no advantage. Besides, you'll be so sick of the "office" by the time your done with orientation, you won't want to be anywhere near a terminal for a long time. I never drove for SN, but most big companies are pretty much the same.

When looking at companies, choose those that run West Coast. Not all do; some only run Eastern half of USA.
    Abilene Motor Express
    Navajo Express
    Freymiller
    Pride Transport
    Halvor Lines
    Decker Truck Line-reefer division
