9 mos. is plenty of time. Depending on where you live, you can get local jobs right out of cdl school.

Try to stick it out for a year. 1 year solid, recent experience will open a lot more doors then 9 months. It shows you are willing to put in a little time.
Then start applying for the jobs you want at the good places that are NOT hiring. Keep doing that, someone will retire, get sick, get fired, cause people usually don't quit the really good jobs. That's why the really good places don't usually have to hire.
If you have to resort to the places that are always running ads, you have to ask yourself why are they always running ads? There are local jobs places cant keep filled cause they suck.
There is a company near me that runs 3/5 ads every single day. They have kiosks in the local mall. They have advertisements at the local DMV. They try to hide who they are in their ads, they have pictures on the DMV advertisments where they block out the names on their trucks. They bought another local company that really did used to be family owned. Now they hide they own that company, and still claim family owned. These are the dirtbags you want to stay away from. The really good places don't need to resort to those shenanigans. If you start job hopping at 9 months, and going place to place looking for a greener pasture, you going to lock yourself out the the good places.Flat Earth Trucker, FlaSwampRat and Moe21 Thank this. -
