I like flatbedding, but some of the places we go it is absolutely ridiculous...pipe yards that take hours and hours to load, plus the people in charge act like they control the world. And if you complain you get shoved to the back of the line... One of the worst places i have been is Womble in Houston..
What are some of your gripes..
need to complain

I know it sometimes sucks everywhere, just wanted to hear other drivers complaints, or how they handle situations.
-
I just had to learn to accept it and let it go.
I can sit on docks 11-14 hours a day and it will burn out my 14 hour clock easily.
When I realized I should just be sleeping and the lost driving time is not coming off my 70 hour clock, made it a little better.
I parked last night at midnite and burned out my 11 hour clock. I am just now recovering it from my 10 hour break. Sucks seeing the morning go away while I think I should be driving.
But then one has to be semper gumby out here.
Always flexible to the schedule as it happens. -
Picked up a load of insulation in rockdale, ill.. ONLY truck there... 4 hours to get loaded.. Cant ##### cuz the more you do the slower they go.. It is what it is.. Shipper went on the never go back list..

MNdriver Thanks this. -
I have been pretty fortunate. There are only a couple of places that you can count on sitting for a while. Most places not more than a couple of hours from the time you get there. But I will say that piping shippers are the worst!

I have only had 1 place that that took over 2 hours to load me. I tend to stick to the oddball loads that have crane appointments and so-on as I found hauling generic freight like shingles, pipe and steel you are just one of the 50 trucks they will load, and one of the thousand for the month so they could care less.
And that 1 place was a lumber yard, where they put 3 bundles on my truck and went off to do other things, came back and put another 2 bundles and went off. After 3 hours I went inside the office and complained and they told me that I was not the 1st driver to ever complain at the way the OWNER loaded trucks. Well, after I found out it was the owner loading the truck I stopped him and asked him if he could just finish loading me as I had to get rolling. He said he'd get to me when he was ready..... next bundle came over and I told him to remove it ALL from my truck and I was leaving. He said "whatever" and went to put it on my truck, so i once again told him to remove it all now or I was going to do a 30mph u-turn in the lot and remove it myself. He just stared at me and then i told him to "remove the #### NOW!!!" and he did. i left and have never and WILL never be back there.
I will lose $100 in fuel rather than deal with an ####### shipper.
