Well, after being home for nearly 3 weeks over X Mas, i leave out for a couple of weeks and have a HG leaking. So, replaced all 6 HG's and nozzles when I went back home last weekend. Took a further day or two off, then left out Monday afternoon all happy at how the rig is running again etc.
Fast forward to today (Wednseday), in Nebraska. Get off I80 to get onto US81 to go into Ks and all the glass inside the cab fogs up!
You guessed it. Cab heater core took a dump on me, 2 days after leaving home:biggrin_2553:
    I now officially HATE January...:biggrin_25525:
Called my local dealer, they said they would charge me 3hrs if I was there, and no need to touch the a/c system.
Stopped by Freightliner in Salina,Ks (after using my shut off valves, very little coolant loss BTW), and they try to get me for 5hrs, plus an ac evac and recharge, and shop charges! BS I say and walk out with a nice brown box, a gallon of coolant and a couple of extra fuel filters.
Looks like I know what I will be doing while shut down in Winslow,Az for the weekend huh? Cant run 12'6" wide in Az on the weekends anyways, so no loss to me.
Local dealer is faxing over the official work sheet for it with pictures etc, so should be an easy(ish) half a day. any tips n tricks welcome from the pro's though. truck is a '06 ('05 built) Columbia.

Job done, in @3hrs, and that includes vacuuming the panels and where they go, and wiping everything down. So if a dealer claims it takes 5hrs and they even need to TOUCH the a/c, call B/S.
I never even saw the evaporator, never mind do a touchy feely thing with it.
Rip off at freightliner in Salina,Ks.
If a truck driver can do it in @3hrs, then they should have been able to do it in @2.5hrs IMHO.

For those interested in maybe doing this themselves and saving the coin...
Here is the heater core, just to the right of the green and red air lines.

All back together, with my co pilot on his normal bed!
