Well, here I sit again, looking through the truck company adds trying to figure out who to apply to. I will be the first to say that all the advice given on here by the experienced drivers was dead on correct. I now realize the value of riding and training with an experienced driver and see the difference between classroom gear shifting and shifting on the road, especially up and down mountains. I apolagize for taking for granted everything I thought I knew and now see that I can learn a thing or two.
So, heres where I am at. Wife and I had to stop teaming due to family emergency. Everything is ok, now. However, I am looking at going solo for a while. We now live outside of Mccall Idaho near the grandsons. Not a lot of options out of the Boise area until I get 6 months. I have had a three month break only after three months OTR. Really would like to do flatbed but I guess I can't be too picky. Looking for a good company that will have consistent good miles. Any ideas?

With only 3 months experience you will have to go with a training company. I'm not sure about who hires trainees out of Idaho for flatbed. You might have to go with a bad company like tmc just to get some experience under your belt.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Doug Andrus will hire you on. Great company with great trucks. They are out of Idaho Falls. Haney truck lines out of Yakima takes on new drivers as well. Where I work, Lessors, Inc, we have a terminal right there in Caldwell, ID but you need some experience. Good luck to you!

Systems transport or their sister TWT up in Spokane are an option for a regional or OTR fleet doing opendeck or reefer.

Central Oregon will train you on flatbed, but they officially require 2 years Class A experience.
