Hey fellas. I started my adulthood pretty rough and racked up felonies and duis that I’m now obvious regretting. I’ve finally reached a point where my life is on the right track and I really want to be able to bring in more than my 23 buck a hour. This year I was able to expunge all my felonies and my record is essentially clean as a whistle now. Unfortunately for me the DUIs aren’t expungable. I plan on starting my 5 week CDl class in November but I’m wondering if It’s worth getting . My last DUI was 5 years ago which I see most companies will excuse. I’m wondering if my other DUI from 2015 is going to prevent me from getting a legitimate job. So my main question is. Is it more about the most recent DUI being 5 years old or will that one from 2015 ultimately screw me. I’m excited about these new opportunities and hoping someone here has 2DUIs and kicking ###. Thx (Location Cincinnati Ohio)

Well ... 2 dui's are definitly going to put you behind a lot of others.
I would suggest getting a complete driving history report - the 10 year one if you can- and any proof that you did a SAP program or that you attended and passed a DUIPrevention class .
Big thing though is 2 is no go for many , many companies and there insurance carrier. ( 5 - 7 is the years to usually wait and having 2 is a real problem for many)
    Good luck.

What part of Cincinnati you from
I use to to live close to 50 on the west side when I was little
You might have luck getting on with castalini down the double a in wilder ky there a union with less restrictions om new hires
    Or got to
1999 Section Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45237
    Atlantic foods
And talk to then before hand it's a small company use to only have 5 or 7 stright trucks and 1 tt (been a couple years since I worked for them) they do food service local mostly schools and African
    Store and a couple jails.
There fair people just walk in and talk to them I highly doubt they would turn away someone looking for a job

Man, the 2 is a big problem. I had one when I was 21 years old, got my CDL 7 years later and it was still looked at by companies I applied to, back then it was right at the cutoff for how far back they wanted to be able to allow one, but two in a lifetime is almost a death nail. That was a long time ago, I'm sure companies/ insurance companies are even stricter now. I'd imagine there are carriers out there that would take you still, however, you might not want to work for them if ya know what I mean. I would recommend doing your homework first and see what companies out there would be willing to hire you and what the requirements are before spending money on school. If you get your liscense then don't use it for awhile waiting on your record to clear up you may end up needing a refresher course and end up spending more money. Better to find out straight from carriers first, I'd make some calls. Good luck to ya.
