Insurance is going to be next to impossible to get unless you have a strong connection these days in Ontario, so if you live outside you're probably better off. Load boards are the way to go however there is a Freight shortage big time. Everyone and their mother bought trucks recently so there isn't enough freight to these trucks right through North America.
Another Canadian driver and Magoo1968 Thank this. -
Load boards are not the way to go.You need to get direct shippers. All the cheap and crappy freight ends up on the load boards.Another Canadian driver, Canadianhauler21, Phantom Trucker and 1 other person Thank this.

First off what works in the USA doesn’t work in Canada .. we have a ever ending supply of naive new owner operators who are willing to run weeks on end for fuel money running team. Brokers know this and even if you have a in with them you only get certain loads that customer wants a quality carrier.. shippers really don’t care if groceries packaging etc ends up in the ditch because insurance buys the load and they sell a extra one… specialty products they care and mostly only use their trusted carriers and brokers .
Another Canadian driver, Canadianhauler21 and Albertaflatbed Thank this. -
It appears you have put together a great business plan. I see nothing but success.
Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
