Hey everyone, just picked up a 2000 Classic XL with a 500hp C15, 18spd, and 3.36 rears. What are some things I need to watch for in regards to the freightliner parts on the truck, mainly the cab and suspension.

Make sure they don't have "VOLVO" stamped on the underside!
Boardhauler and Trucail Thank this. -
they are really heavy

This one only shows to weight a little over 1000lbs more than the T600 it replaced.

The bushings in the air leaf , and the two bolts that hold the bushing block to the air leaf. Great truck . Just watch those two things . Thinking back , I may would have swapped out those bolts about every two years or so. May be a hour and 20 bucks for bolts? Good luck and enjoy! My dads classic was a 02 , with the 475 cat , was getting low 7s . Miss those days!

really I'd choose columbia ore s/t

Total BS. The Classic cab is waaay better built than the Columbia. I'd trade my Columbia for a good fld/Classic any day.

The Classic is the Caddy of Freightliner's, why wouldn't you want the best if you could?

I have to work in tiny yards now and it is a problem for long hood trucsk to work there, so seems to me I need one more truck now, and I have to choose cabover.
Really I do not like new short hood trucks for bad access to engine and I do not like cabovers.....
