Benefits are pretty standard. Somebody in the last week posted the details on some other USX thread. They take it out weekly but I do not have the amounts at hand. There are two different health care levels, dental, vision and life insurance. No paid vacation but there is a retention bonus paid each year.

 

Also your Benefits will not start until a minimum of 90 after you are hired. They want to make sure you stay with USX long enough before they go through the paperwork to allow you to have Benefits. The turn over rate is rather high with USX.

 

I understand that the sign up period is within 30 days of hire...

 

Sign up is within 30 days but benefits do not take effect until 90 days. this is pretty standard for all health insurance programs for every company I have ever worked for or owned.

 

You have 30 days from the date of Hire to sign up for Benefits, but watch what day you sign up for them as if I remember right they run from calender to calender. What I mean is, if you sign up on the say May 28 you will have your Benefits on September 1, but if you waited till say June 2, you won't get them until October 1.

As for Health Insurance being a standard thing for a 90 day period, USX was the first company I had ever worked for that had a 90 waiting period. The most I had to ever wait was 2 weeks because they had started on the 1st of the month or the 15th.
