You would be in our 12-14 day area. You would be required to stay out 2 weeks before you put in for a home time request. You would get 1 day per week you are out. So, you could be home every couple weeks if you wanted to for 2 days, but that would hurt your miles. Stay out longer, get more days at home. Personally, I stay out a few months at a time, and take off weeks...I'm currently on my second day of a three week "vacation" ;)...Miles are good, vary in average from 2000-2500, sometimes a little lower during slow freight periods, or a little higher during high freight months. We have a terminal in Birmingham, so you'd be able to park your car there while you're out, and drop off your truck there and drive your car out when you are on home time--if you decide to do that. Phenix City is right outside Columbus, GA, if I'm not mistaken, yes?

Anything else you'd be interested in knowing, just ask.

Whow are they about taking extra time off, say 4 days instead of 2 after 14 on? Or a week without pay for a vacation?

It will only be allowed if it is approved, and it will only be approved if there is a good reason. And, IF it is approved, you will start your next run in the negative. So, if you go home for 4 days, but only have 2, when you return to work you will have to work 4 weeks before you can go home, and will only get 2 days off.

Orientation is a short time, but you will go over most of what kind of loads we carry. You will probably be going out with a trainer as well, since you will have no experience, and he will show you whatever kind of loads he gets..

What kinds of loads does Melton generally pull? Is there basically one or two type's of loads, or just about anything?
