I cannot accept credit for this but I read the best advice given to a new driver by a experienced driver. Before you go asking a bunch of questions read the forum dedicated to what you are insterested in from top to bottom. All the discussions between the old timers. Read all of the threads. Then read the other forums about trucking in general, you don't have to read reefer forum if you want into flatbed but take the time and READ. If you haven't changed your mind about trucking after that and you still have questions then start asking. You will read the bad experiences and the great ones. Put yourself in the middle of that because even with great companies you will still get mad or sit or have a short week but the bad stories well the guy in the truck beside him with the same company could be happy as hell. No company is the same no driver is the same. The truckstop hoppers as I call them wonder why they can't make any money. The driver that gets to his delivery without screwing around usually gets another load and a better check. If you do it right you can make it and make a descent living, if you jack around you will probably quit in less than a year and bad mouth trucking forever.

Trucking is what you make of it!. It can be a Crap job?, Or the greatest job?, It's up to you!, There are some very good point in this, I was an O/O for many years, but sold my truck, and now drive for someone else, And I always have another load set to me Before I finish the load Im on, If you want to make trucking your choise of work, Take pride in it, and do the job, P/U and Deliveries come first while you are on the road, Site seeing, and stopping to party come last, Save that stuff for your home time, I have talked with "DRIVERS", that claim they cant make money out here, and after talking with them, the truth usaully comes out, and I hear? Well?, I took three days of here cause I wanted to see the this or that, last week, I went to this truck show, and then, well?, I went home for 9 days, these drivers do more playing than working, Then they get mad at the company for not sending them loads, Here's something some dont understand!, Most companies?, If you have a habbit of turning down loads, they will put you at the end of there list for a load!, They are not in the buisness for you to go site seeing, you need to transport the goods that they haul, adapt to do this and loads will come your way, and remember!, not every load going to be that big mile run, sometimes they may need to send you a shorter run to get a bigger run
