been driving 40 years, just purchased a eld truck. I am trying to figure out how to find a customized eld. looking to be able to set parameters or settings like min speed before it switches to on duty, pc limits and such. Owner op, only truck. Been on paper logs for 40 years but loving the ride, fuel mileage, settings and auto of the newer Volvos. please advise a guy into his 60s, Thank y'all

Pretty much any eld will allow as long of a PC as you want. As for speed, the law says 5mph max to switch to driving and that's what most use. If you mean going from driving to on duty, there is a time specified too. I believe 180 seconds the vehicle must be stopped to automatically go in duty, but I might be wrong about the exact number.

If you tell us exactly what you want to do, we might be able to help better.

I am not sure you will find a unit that you can change those parameters.
I had administrative rights on my Geotab and max PC is 75km. I don’t think my unit is speed based but GPS position based for switching to Driving from On Duty. If the position changes a few meters it seems to switch to Driving right away, I have tried crawling and it detects the movement and goes to Driving.

I don’t think their is much customization you can do to ELD they all should follow the same rules. You can probably change Yard Move speed limits and distance. They all have do basically the same thing. They automatically switch you to driving after 5-7 MPH. They automatically switch from driving to on duty after parked like 6 minutes.

You can even change parking spot at truck stop without logging Personnel Conveyance or do the ELD roll in parking lot.

You can’t unload and then use Personal Conveyance to go home or back to terminal if out of hours. That was getting lots of driver in trouble in the past
