Nothing will be done at the $1200 sensor/install.
The computer first showed the "Inlet nox sensor". After sensor was fixed another light came on the computer and said no communication for inlet or outlet sensors.

I agree. In my shop that is typically around $700 for that job. It's an expensive sensor, ~ $500 for the sensor, then you have 2-3 hours total between diagnosing (to verity that it is indeed the sensor), replacing the sensor, road test to heat it up to get a stable reading, verify that it's working and clear the fault.Shaggy76 Thanks this.

You can get reman or new nox sensors, that is why there is huge price difference. Sometimes it comes down to availability and what gets you back on the road quicker.

I don't think Peterbilt dealer has a reman?

$1,200 is a lot for an inlet nox sensor repair. Unless there was something extraordinary involved in the repair - that's a steep price. The sensor, depending on which part number, is anywhere from $300 - $500ish and then there's a few hours of labor involved doing the diagnostics and replacement.
Also - it concerns me that they told you to drive for a distance to make the MIL go off. That should have been part of their repair verification and would have told them right away that the repair wasn't finished. -
The sensor alone from Peterbilt in Canada was $1060, the rest was labor. As for the engine light I agree with you.

Have you got it sorted out? Some wiring has contents in insulation that attracts critters. A ground hog ravaged wiring in a car in our parking lot at terminal. I had walked by car, heard the racket and rapped on the hood, groundhog crawled out and buggered off,,,until it was safe to return.
-
Do you have the invoice in front of you? I'm curious what the part number is.

I had the issues fixed. I had the nox inlet replaced, engine harness was rewired and after all that my turbo was not spooling enough. A buddy from Kenworth said to replace the turbo pressure sensor and that had my truck running 100%.
I actually don't have it with me, I'm on vacation and will not be back for another week or so. I will send it to you through private message once I get a hold of it. It included a core charge of $120.00. -
3687334RX is a popular one. The RX means Reman Exchange. That is why it had a core charge too.
