lately the radio here has been running an ad that I swear says they need RVs delivered to various cities so they will GIVE YOU the RV free of charge for two weeks as long as it gets to Vegas, Denver, whatever city by the end of that time.

would that type of arrangement violate the law? i mean they are actually delivering the RV for the company and being paid with two weeks free usage of it.

Naw, can't be right...... got to be a catch like a deposit. Besides if you were given a new RV to "use" for a couple of weeks then it wouldn't be "new" anymore. Whom would be on hook for like wear and tear, accidents, spills etc?

"New" buyer would have legal recourse if dealer didn't disclose this too. If he does disclose then price goes down......

maybe they're trying to add to the used RV market by doing it that way? either way, wouldn't the person driving the RV have to have a CDL because its being driven specifically to deliver it somewhere even though its on a two week time frame?

i'm not 100% sure on the ad and its content but next time i hear it i will be sure to grab the company name.

Maybe you're moving "show trailers" from one show to the next? Are RV shows still going on?

they do have RV shows. or at least they do here in Ft Wayne. this is a single companies ad though and i swear it talks about delivering to dealers.

i'll try and catch the ad on the station this weekend. otherwise it'll be Monday before i hear it again.(unfortunately i will hear it again. i have no idea why an oldies station with 4 decades of music to play still only plays about 20 songs repeatedly during the day)

I remember times when U-Haul would offer free rental of trucks from areas in the south where there was a surplus of trucks to people that would take trucks to the NE where there was a shortage .
Could be the same type of deal .
There are also companies that give people free use of cars to move them across the country for owners that are too cheap to pay regular transport fees.

Yeah, that is my guess as well. Bet they have EVERYTHING covered in plasitc and you cannot remove or really use ANYTHING in the RV... if you do, they keep your deposit.

Last time I moved, we rented a Ryder truck. We were not scheduled to return the truck until after 4:00 in the afternoon. We get a cell call from the return location and the guys says if we return it before noon that day... He would give me $100 cash(seems they were short rental trucks in the area). We unloaded our household items in record time and got the cash....:biggrin_255:

I suspect they are 'giving' you two weeks to deliver the RV so you can take your time. Maybe drive slower, save fuel or be able to hunt down a return plane ticket that will be cheaper.
they aren't giving you the use of the RV for personal use.

Sure would be interesting to hear from somebody that responded to the ad.

Have been reading ads for people to haul and move RV's, I know two people that went into this and ended up broke and worn out pickups.

Plenty of catches when you read the contract, but hey never hurts to find out more it may be legitimate.
