Did some quick math in my head, and from what they offered, you'd have to work like a mad man and NEVER take a day off to make that kind of money. No paid vacation for the first two years also

$200,000 as a SOLO city PU/DL driver on starting wages??? Really?

    Is pay based on region?

What city was it, I might have to sign up...

Don't they have a pension and pay for your health insurance though?

    I flat out don't believe it. Not for a local P & D gig. Anywhere. . .

Yeah. My current job does as well, just pays little less than ABF. Was always kinda under the impression that, next to UPS, ABF was the best ltl trucking job out there. Didn't seem to be all that great and the drivers I saw seemed beat down and tired. No vacation for two years kinda bugged me as well. Not to mention the current state of their pension fund

This is confusing to me.....I worked for ABF a few years ago as a casual (part-time). I was unable to get full time because no one quits or gets fired so I ended up somewhere else. It was a Teamster's gig that had outstanding benefits, pension and pay once you got on full time. From my understanding ABF is union country wide and is very comparable if not a little better than all other union trucking jobs. As far as the 200k a year that's a bit of a stretch but I remember there was always an overtime board which you could put your name on everyday if you did not want to work overtime. You're only overworked here if you want to be and as far as their pension, it's great but yes I can see the concern. But then again, I can see the concern in any union pension plan.

    Shaggy and freightwipper Thank this.
