I don't give a rat's fuzzy #### if the OP is "desperate for a living-wage job". Fact is, he lied about qualifications on a job that entails a LOT of safety related issues.
I don't care if he risks his own safety, but he would also likely be risking the safety of nearby honest & qualified others.
Here's just one example of what can happen:

KW Cajun Thanks this. -
A water hauler who's been at it for two years steady is a valuable employee and very often a senior driver. You'll be a self starter with a wide range of experience, from drill rigs to production sites, to live fracs to water impoundments. You'll know what to do and how to do it, without spilling. Most importantly you will be able to do it quickly and safely. And I'm not even talking about the driving part.
A non-experienced tanker driver can be spotted a mile off, by anyone who's done it for more than a few months. You'd better either be an amazingly quick learner or quit before you're fired. If it gets around that you, a green driver, claimed to essentially be a veteran, it could be difficult to stay employed in that segment of the industry. -
my other bud is goin to train but know I dont think im going to take the jonb because of high rent, I would only make 10 thousand more a year.

To the OP, you didn't do your research nor did your friend. 2 of the guys working for the company my husband works for have less than 3 months driving experience, both were trained on how to work the hoses and pumps ( one strait out of CDL school). No this might not be the best of companies, but my husband makes more than a living wage. The company isn't fly-by-night, it's been around for awhile, but isn't a mega-carrier either.
You know, my husband has said more than once that I could pass the written part of the CDL ( hazmat included) with no problem ...I know enough about semi's to know the mechanics of driving one...you wanna be on the road with me when I tell a company that I can drive?? I was "OTR" for over a year...the fact that I was a passenger only ( well except for the flatbedding...I did strap and chain) is beside the point.abdersj Thanks this. -
I hope he got caught before he killed someone. He deserves to get his butt fired and blackballed from trucking altogether. I have been trucking for 26 years, and I don't have the nads to try and pull this kind of stunt. I also have more respect for myself and my reputation than to lie on an application. -
Sorry about being off topic... how did you come about getting the username "peterrumbler" ?
Grubby Thanks this. -
Not sure which I have more of a problem with, lying to get a potentially career-ending job or lying to keep the welfare bennies coming in to avoid job work
-
I worked hauling water and that company used to just toss guys in the seat and let them have at it all the time....
P.s. those vac tanks are usually baffled, pretty much no surge to them at all... -
Tanker doesn't take much to get used to, I think after a day or two. Knowing how to load and unload is the trick. Real easy to spill or take a bath, I've seen it many times.
this may be a case of the company may not really care. I've met guys with experience that still mess up like someone with no experience. Always amazed how they even got two years and still made newbie mistakes
