    Also, Schneider will require that 40 hour Refresher course since you have no recent driving experience. This course is offered by multiple trucking schools and will cost you in the neighborhood of $2400. There are threads here which will help you determine what to ask schools that offer this course so you can make sure you're getting your money's worth. Assuming you go with Schneider and make it through training, they will gradually reimburse you for what you spent to take this course. Another thing about Schneider is from Orientation to completing time with a driver trainer, its only about a month total. You could be driving solo otr in very short order!

    Yes I have been talking to Schneider and some others, but hate to take a Refresher course because I really don't think I need one.
    But I guess I will have to, and see what happens, I would even think about getting back on the road if there was any doubt in my mind or about my ability. It seems like a waste of time and money! oh well

    With all that experience you would be nuts to pay for a refresher course just to go work for some training company making trainee wages!!!

    Start knocking on doors at all of the small outfits close to you until someone throws you in a truck...

    try centerline drivers dot com tell them uve been an o/o the last 5 years and give them good refreneces that will say you were. I was their 5 years and their was O/o's who came over that didnt wanna have their own truck anymore and they didnt have any issue.
