60psi seems to be a standard number. All our KW's with the 8bag systems are 60 at 34k, Hendrickson Intraxx300 or HT300 suspensions are also 60 at 34k and we had a guy leased on with a 379 pete and his was 60 at 34k with pete's low air leaf.

i had a schrader valve plumbed into the air bags. i would read the pressure, and could convert that number, with a calculator, into lbs. on the ground. can't get any cheaper than that and it works as good as right weigh, or a 10 dollar pressure guage. johnny

For Volvo owners I do have a warning. I have Air-Weigh installed and Is just a useless gauge on top of my dash.
After 2 years of complaints, the Air-Weigh people finally told me that the system is working great but .....not with Volvo trucks. Why? Coz the suspension valve on Volvo is slow and the gadget needs to get air fast in order to have a proper reading. What is weird is that the reading is incorrect even on the trailer.
If u have a Volvo and want Air-Weigh better call the company before and ask about the inconvenient very direct and straight.

Can you just install a faster leveling valve? Chances are your truck has a leveling valve with a "delay". It's supposed to conserve air but it really means that your suspension is slow to react. Neway valve #NE-90054007 has a delay (probably what your truck has) but part number NE-90554241 (or NE-90554271 with manual dump) are "immediate response" and should fix your problem for less than $100. Hendrickson also has a "non delay" valve.

Adding a cheap relay valve to any of these will more than double the speed but won't work with the delay valve you have, truck/trailer will just go up and down non stop, already tried this once.:biggrin_2559:

Air-Weigh guys told me the same thing but there is no way to find a "fast" valve who fits on Volvo. Volvo are famous for makin things imposible to replace but with only Volvo parts.
I asked everywhere and no luck. If anyone have any solution feel free to shoot and I will owe him a tone of respect.

If you could take a picture of your valve and how it's mounted it would help. Also if you could get a part number of what's on your truck I can try and find a substitute that won't require you to change much. I found this chart (at the bottom) but I don't know if that's current or anything close to what you have. I can't imagine they made it in a way that you couldn't retrofit. I put one on my pickup so I know it can be done to a volvo.:biggrin_2559:

Seems like a lot of work but since you already paid for the system and jumped through all the hoops trying to get it to work anything's worth a try. I switched a trailer from a Haldex to a Hendrickson and their totally different. All it took was a bracket swap.

I have been an air-weigh installing dealer for 16 years. Some setups do require the fast leveling valves to work properly. The Hadley 500 leveling valve is the best for scales.....zero deadband ....immediate response. Don't let a 50-60 dollar valve keep you from enjoying the scale. I'll answer any questions you have on the setup.
