Old Fort Rd in North Carolina strikes again!! You would think after the first two threads on this road drivers would heed the warning but nooooo, somebody thinks “I can still make it”!!!
Look at the photo again-unlike the last two trucks that went up the road(and got stuck in the exact SAME SPOT) this guy actually had his tandems slid forward to the limit!!!
The only reason drivers try(and fail miserably) to take this road is to primarily dodge the Hendersonville scales on I-26! And they have signs on I-40 warning drivers about that particular road!!Last edited: Apr 26, 2020
Bud A., Savor the Flavor, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
Has anyone made it around that corner....?
48’ flat with dump valve maybe or 36’ dump trailer..... -
IIRC the warnings state vehicles not to exceed 22’ in length.

Warnings are a meer suggestion..... it’s hard to tell from a photo how tight that is........

Well considering that’s a 53’ dry van stuck in the “hole of shame”,never mind the driver wasn’t paying attention to the LEO behind him trying to get his attention-I’d say it was a pretty tight hairpin turn!
This is why we’re taught to always keep your head on a swivel!Bud A., D.Tibbitt, Wasted Thyme and 1 other person Thank this. -
Is it wrong that I sorta want to try and see if I could make it?
Bud A., stevep1977, Dale thompson and 8 others Thank this. -
I thought the same... 45 ft with a dump. Think my Pete would give me issues though. I might could with an older daycab!
