How much is the FS2500 filter? and can you get them anywhere else other than Filtration Solutions?

I get mine from another supplier that has ties to FS. The pricing is pretty close though. You do get substantial discounts buying in bulk. I buy them in an 11 pack at one time. They are about $2.50 cheaper per filter than buying one at a time. Just look online where I buy mine and they are $28.95 for one or $26.35 each in a pack of 11. I am going to use all of these filters over the life of my truck, so figured I would just buy in bulk and save some green.

Scroll down on this page and you will see pricing....

Well I finally broke down and got one. Had our shop do the install and they were pretty impressed. Now to see the #s.

Love mine. But they need a line shutoff valve for when you're changing filters! I end up losing at least 1 to 2 gallons of oil every time!

Huh? How would any bypass filter change loose a gallon or two of oil? What are you doing, leaving the motor running? I only loose what is in the filter canister, about a shade over a quart. Even if what was in the line to the canister drained out, that would be maybe, at most, 1/4 of a quart.

But it really is a moot point on my part. I don't change the FS2500 bypass filter on my truck till I do an oil change. So all the oil is getting dropped anyway.

DD15 the oil filter housing sits high up. Like next to the cam frame.

It would be nice if the fs had a drain on the bottom of housing. It takes a little practice not to spill some when taking the housing off.

It used to come with one. I don't understand why they ever stopped.

Mine has a petcock on bottom to drain the canister. It was in the kit, I had to install it on the canister. There was a small screw in the bottom of the can. Remove and replace with petcock. Should be able to get one from FS.
