    Mine has no screw, smooth as a baby's butt on the bottom. I have thought about drilling and putting pipe threads in it.

    Correct. It is off center towards the side. That would be outside the diameter of the filter itself.

    Same, no hole. I'm not going to mess with it. I unscrew it and let it fall into my bucket. I just let the mess happen and clean up.

    Mine's like a woman on her period, with no tampon, when I loosen that bolt. I just put a 5 gallon bucket under it, double-lined!

    I wonder about a drain valve on one of the housing ports and just bolt the whole assembly upside down?

    It does come with a oil sample port that you put on the side of the canister head. Using their sample port connector, one might be able to drain an upside down mounted unit that way. Just a quick thought.
