For CAT, OEM. I used to say OEM for all, but my Detroit parts were lots of China, pistons Mahle. Seen China and Mexico from Cummins. Hell, cat may be oversea now too
singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
It does not matter where parts are made nowadays, as long as quality control is there.Vampire Thanks this.

It matters where I spend my $. PAI is US builtRunningAces, RocketScott, singlescrewshaker and 1 other person Thank this.

I only bought PAI once, an oil cooler for n14. Failed within few days. Have not bought anything else from PAI since then, only OEM.
Bought 3 n14 overhaul kits, all made in India, original Cummins, all is good so far.
While I also would like to buy stuff made in USA, the sad reality is that does not guarantee quality anymore.Vampire, Rookie driver 956, Long FLD and 1 other person Thank this. -

I had a local municipality that would not spend the extra $ for OEM parts. I ended up buying and overhauling 9 or 10 trucks with PAI kits. C10, C12, and a couple Cummins. All were just fine.
I've done 1 or 2 60's with PAI. One was fine, one I had to adjust ring gap on every ring.
Now to bad OEM. Lots of Cummins issues. Normally electrical, but lots of water pumps, 1 accy drive, and many injectors.
I've had 1 Detroit head bad from the factory, and a 6 pack of injectors that all leaked fuel at the solenoids.
QC ain't what it used to be IMORookie driver 956 and DUNE-T Thank this. -
Hey, what about the 855 Cummins recommendations?
