Depending on trk build its not easy at all to move any real amount of weight up on the steers..He only has 240 lbs to put on the trl bogies which will still leave him over gross and over on his drives and a hair over in steers...Hes gettin pulled in if he runs over a scale..

He’s not over on his steer axle.
wore out Thanks this. -
Arkansas says it's up to the officer, Mississippi does too. Attitude and stupidity can go a long ways there

If he's not up to 13k on the steers.
He's nowhere near a hair over.
Provided the steers are rated for that much. But most of us don't see scales stopping you to check your door label. -
He might get his trl bogies close to 34k,drives are still gonna be roughly 500 over and if steers get maxed out he still has no room for fuel, depending where his tanks are on chassie..
Being so close on his axle weight he may get the green light on 90% of the scales but it only takes one officer who had a bad day to give him the come on in for a chat and extra paper work.. -

Like I said, my steers are always 13500, and I have never had any problem, even when I had it running the lower 48, I bet if you check most states are 13 000 or over for legal steer weight. I had a dot look at my door weights two weeks ago during an inspection, and ask him why, He told me the weight didn't was not what we were legally allowed.

Still chances are his trk will not physically get that much weight off the drives and up on the steers..
Never knew you could have 13500 on yer steers unless registered and a hd front end for it..
On your basic 80,000 lb reg trk,13500 is gonna get you pulled in..Last edited: Oct 12, 2019

zDown south I am like everybody else, 80,000 gross, and have never been pulled in for 13500 at all. I do know they can look at the limits on the tires or measure the width and write you up, but only ever saw Tx do that to one guy, and that was just because they couldn't find anything else to write him up for. lol

Just looking at my old atlas, there is only like 4 states that limits a guy to 12,000 on steers, and three of them is ar, la, and ms, which I ran through all of them several times with this truck, the rest unless they physically come out and check your axle and tires, which seems to be somewhat rare, you are good to go.
I know I have had no problem with it.catdog45 Thanks this.
