    Are there any operations out there where you own the truck but the broker handles liability and sources the drivers for your truck?

    Basically, hand them the keys, and go.. (aside from the obvious like paying maintenance for example)

    Don't shoot the messenger... lol Have a friend that's been doing hot-shot work for a few years and was telling me something along those lines... Being that I'm interested in the broker side of things my antenna's went up...lol

    You can be a non-driver owner, but you are not going to be an absentee owner.

    as owner, you take all responsibility, you have to fill & maintain that seat. Being a “fleet owner” while leased to a carrier will help you out a ton. They will provide and maintain all the regulatory stuff, as well as dispatch the truck. You still have to find drivers that meet their hiring criteria tho.
