    I want to do owner OP but I don't want to drive a standard when did automatics come out a new truck iS too expensive

    I drove a 2000 model Freightliner. Century classic. That was automatic. That particular one had the clutch like a standard transmission.

    Why do you say that? I would say that's the minimum to get started being an O/O. Auto or manual doesn't factor at that point.

    Unless you're a good truck mechanic and you're running something a little older that's not totally trashed out and you're not financially strapped, then you could get by with ALOT less

    Not saying that works for everyone tho

    That's true. And some simply get lucky and start with a lease purchase with no savings. They somehow get the perfect runs and is able to save enough to buy a truck. Those are the rare cases though,
    There is a reason a good 80%-90% of O/O - L/O never make it past the first year.
