    Hey Everyone,
We are owner operators, we have a car hauling business in Virginia. Does anyone know where I can find experienced CDL A OTR Car Hauling Drivers????????

We would love to have a team of two drivers(husband/wife, brother/brother, father/son, friend/friend, etc.), but that’s proving even harder to find! Can anyone help us please???????

did you place ads on Indeed.com, mycareerbuilder.com, yahoo hot jobs, Monster.com

have you tried your state's unemployment job service site?

then the bottom line, what are you offering in the way of pay, benefits?

    if a 1099...good luck.

Yes, we have posted on Craigslist, Indeed, Monster, Career Builder, we would rotate our postings from one job posting site to another.

For being a small company we offer great wages and paid time off. We’ve been doing a 1099, but we are willing to change and pay with company check and take taxes out to be able to have qualified drivers!

you still do not mention health benefits...

in your ads, do you say how you pay, 1099, W-2 or either way a person wants it?

if for instance someone calls, and you or another person answers and says "we pay on a 1099"..i think you sunk your battleship..

ask them how they wanna be paid, when they ask YOU how you pay.

if you do not offer any health benefits, or if you do, and they are sky high driver contributions, you lose potential drivers.

if you want for instance a husband/wife team, health benefits mean a lot.

for many, health benefits mean a lot to as well.

in regards to the job sites, aren't they all free to you, to post to..??

if so, run all of them all the time.

try running them in different areas of the country. some are willing to move for a better job.

or at least, if they can get back to thier home 20.

and if you are specifying teams more so than "drivers", you might be missing out on good solo drivers.

Yes, we have tried Facebook, Craigslist, and job posting sites, friends, relatives.

We are just having a really hard time finding qualified drivers.

    Thanks for the input!

Unfortunately it is not free to post jobs these days, we have placed ads in different states through Craigslist.

I do appreciate your suggestions especially asking drivers how they want to be paid!

We are a small business so at this point we aren’t able to offer insurance. We truly understand how important it is, I have health issues and we don’t have insurance on ourselves.

    Thanks for your knowledge!

i did not know it costs money to place ads on an internet website...i was under an assumption, the ads from sponsors, paid the bills.

oh well, the health insurance would most certainly be a deal breaker for me, if i was job searching.

    just saying.

When Werner and JB hunt pays like .45 cpm for experienced drivers a 1099 isnt gonna attract anything... your gonna have to keep up with competition...

Good luck! It’s a very difficult market.

Hard enough finding solos, teams are almost impossible.

FYI, get insurance on yourself even if you can’t provide it to employees yet. If you get sick and go bankrupt, your business goes bye bye and so does the security and livelihood of your drivers and their families.

Edit: to other posters, yes CL charges $25 per post. Indeed is free unless you promote it. FB is free to post on your wall but to promote it costs around $25 a day depending on your budget and how big your hiring radius is. Adds up very fast with no guaranteed results. Mostly failure.

How much is your pay? Might be part of the problem but even phenomenal pay gets few bites.
