I no longer chase big money. Now that I'm doing food service I really like working 4 days a week. However, when I was running flatbed I wouldn't even look at a job unless it grossed. Close to a 100 grand plus bennifits. If I had stayed at my old employer I'd have been at 90 plus benifits this year. Want top hands got to pay top dollar.

Finding team drivers with car hauling experience is difficult enough, but adding to that, as some have already said, the fact that you don't offer benefits and pay on a 1099 is making it that much harder. I sympathize with small business owners, but you are really going to have to pay some serious money to find what you are looking for. Good luck to you.

Thank you for your response, however our business is small and we are not expecting to pay low wages and have someone with only fast food experience drive for us, there has to be a middle ground for a small businesses, it’s been my husband and myself for 3 yrs, and we are just getting to the point where we can expand and higher qualified drivers, and we have no problem paying for $120,000.00 a year for a qualified driver. So no, we don’t have all the bells and whistles that a much larger company would have, but we are offering good wages, and paid time off. One day hopefully we will be able to provide benefits. I was hoping that this forum was to help one another.

Yes $2,500.00 a week each driver, we would never ask drivers to split their pay.

It is common now for no insurance from small companies we dont offer health insurance pay $1 per loaded mile and pay cash every Friday for the week before and seem to keep good drivers but we have gotten smaller in the last 4 years now so just 1 driver and myself part time

Id consider it as it sounds fair. But we wouldnt be a good fit. Im a solo have 0 intrest in teaming. And while 120k on 1099 sounds fair. There just short supply and huge demand for a good solid team. Most already found there home and are getting fair to good to great compensation. They practically can name there price.. its scary to jump ship for just anoither fair deal.

Not saying your offer isnt fair. You just have a lot of competition for that small pool of driver teams.

    Badmon Thanks this.
