Pa ez pass help

Well I'm going back through my statements for my taxes just to double check things and I see a bunch of charges on my account that I did not make. Thank goodness it's not like thousands of dollars but it's probably hundreds for sure.

So I speak to the lady at ez pass and I said I did not make these charges.. She said well we see your plate. I said I travel in a very specific region I do not travel in those areas.

She said what color is your truck? I said my truck is blue. She said no your truck is white. I said no my truck is blue. She said OK I'll send you a photo. My truck is a blue freightliner and she sends me a photo of a white International. I said that's not my truck. She said yes but that's your plate.

I said I've reviewed my logs. That truck was traveling when I wasn't even working. So she said well I guess they took your plate.I said no my truck was sitting in my garage that is a fake plate. She said no one can fake a plate.

I said lady DOT already told me there are Russian mobs they fake CDL licenses. She said well that's a license that's not a license plate. I said lady don't you understand the CDL has a hologram on it it's hard to fake... a plate is easy to fake.

Oh no no that's not true. Well I don't want to pay those charges. Well that's your plate so you're responsible. I said no I did not make those charges I'm happy to pay my own bills but I'm not paying for someone else to run on the turnpike.

Well you can submit your information and your registration and take photos of your truck but you're not going to win. I said lady which part of I'm not paying charges that I did not make do you not understand? I have no problem paying my bills but there's someone running around all the pa turnpike using easy pass that is charging it to me don't you understand that?

I said you have a photo of the trailer that's not my trailer I don't have any tag like that. We don't care about the trailer we just want the tag on the truck. But that's not my truck that's not my tag.

Anybody have a lawyer I can call anybody have any information that would help with this?

I have no problem paying my own bills but this is ridiculous.

 

As I checked my info, the plate number on the ez pass is incorrect.

They are telling me that I put the wrong plate number down, I don't remember who did the plate number whether I call or did it online.

But the lady is saying she could care less if I can prove that's not my plate and that's not my truck because if that's what it says on the account then I'm liable for it.

Gotta love the Pennsylvania turnpike.

 

I guess you never got the money back.

That's the thing that really bothers me. It isn't even necessarily about the money. It is about the money but that's not really the point.

This woman tells me flat out if that's what it says on your account you're paying it. I said well I can prove to you those are not my charges and that's not my truck. I don't care what you can prove or not prove if that's the number that is on your account you are paying for it.

So I said OK let me ask you a question.. If I apply for mortgage and I transpose the number and that happens to be your social security number are you supposed to pay for my mortgage?

And she sat there speechless and I said exactly that's the point. Mistakes happen but when you find the mistake you correct it. You don't pay for someone else's mortgage.

Thank God it looks like it's only a couple hundred dollars, if that.

So I guess we'll see if the big boss of all the big bosses there that's supposed to call me it's going to tell me anything different. Probably not.
