    Hello Guys

I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me. I will be going to get my CDL learners permit here in Pa and need to know what I need to take with me. One website says ss card and drivers license. Another one says Birth Cert. etc. Anyone could help I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

In Texas you have to have your current DL & Social insecurity card. I had to get a state cert coppy of my birth cert for the school I will be attending.. check the web site for your dps and look there. Hope it helps.. stay warm up there.. From Texas

    Thanks Guys

I checked Pa DMV website and I am still confused. I am not sure about the birth cert. I ordered a new one a month ago and have been waiting for it to arrive. I am not sure if I need it to get my permit or not. I tryed calling the DMV and it is a joke. I really dont see a reason why they would need it. I have my ss card and current drivers license. I just dont want to drive there and get told I need my birth cert.

Ummm...did you click that link? It's a pretty easy to understand list of what you need to apply for a permit. Nothing about a birth certificate for the permit. I've never had an issue calling them either. Mostly very quick and helpful and I've lived in PA for over 33 years.
