I have a 2019 Paccar MX13 510hp
coolant alarm keeps going on and when I have pulled over. It was full
in the am I have added as little as a quart to 1/2 gallon but twice in the last week it puked coolant out when I stopped and had the engine idling
I changed the sensor. No difference
Replaced both radiator caps. No difference
it will sometime stop dinging for hours or Evan a day or two and then ding for the next day or more with random breaks
when I stop. It seems to at times stop dinging. Or I can let some pressure out of the reservoir and the level tops off
as soon as I start driving. It starts up again
seems to me the coolant is getting sucked down??
it’s random enough that I don’t thinks it’s a wire
It also seems if I’m south of I10 like Cali to Florida it stays off but north. It starts
Nothing in the oil
Nothing in the coolant and level goes up once I release pressure or it cools down overnight
And I don’t see or notice any white smoke out the stack
Paccar coolant issue

I replaced both sensors twice, one at the reservoir and the other on the block. At the end, it was hardness.

Liner dropped ?
Their known to do this.Big Road Skateboard Thanks this. -
When did you change the coolant last?
-
Does the MX have a blow by tube? If so, stick a finger up it and see if it's nasty milky.
Also look on the bottom of the filler cap. -
Over flow tube out of coolant reservoir on drivers side of engine put in a jug of water.
Start truck and rev
Does it bubble ?
If it does best find someone who Knows and Works on these motors.
Parts on these motors are just to expensive to throw $$$ at.
Good Luck.....Last edited: Jan 23, 2024
Arctic_fox and GYPSY65 Thank this. -

Sounds like you have the beginning of pressure in the cooling system. If its forcing coolant out the vent cap it is likely overpressure.
Pressure test or suspect air compressor first especially if original. Head gasket failures are common on the compressor.
Lets check this first.....Arctic_fox, Oxbow, GYPSY65 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I “might” have figured it out
Too early to tell yet
But after cooling down and with the new caps in. I added about 1/2 gallon bottles f coolant
200 miles this am and no dings yet and no coolant pushing out
will know soon enoughGoodysnap Thanks this.
