A 51-year-old Eaton man was killed in a collision in a construction zone 20 miles east of Greeley this morning.

The unidentified driver was traveling about 65 mph, according to the Colorado State Patrol, when he crashed into the back of a parked flatbed semi-trailer truck.

Platte Valley firefighters from Kersey attempted resuscitation efforts on the driver, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trooper S.C. Straley said the speed limit in the construction zone was about 40 mph. He also said the positive identification of the driver has not been made on the driver, but his drivers license indicates he's from Eaton.
