I am currently at Schneider at the 7 month mark. I started as a CDL school graduate in May 2010. I was told at that time it was .26/mile. Reality was .24/mile + .01/mile geographic premium, which is .25/mile. When I checked with recruiting they told me that pay was not correct, then they called me back 2 hours later and said it was correct at the lower rate. I am not going to sit here and badmouth Schneider, but I am just saying be prepared for a different reality then what the recruiter says. Overall, Schneider is not a bad company. There are many things I like and some I don't. Until I get more experience, I will dance with the one that brought me.

I did get a raise to .32/mile at my 6 month mark so that was a nice raise. Also, you will be on forced per diem for the first three months. About the end of your three month anniversary, go to your DBL (freight manager) and fill out the form to come off per diem if you don't like it.
I don't know what it will be like from the Washington state area. Maybe it will be different for you, what I have written is my experience.one37 Thanks this. -
What kind of miles are you getting? Also what kind of miles you got when you started with SNI

I am now on a dedicated team account, so my miles would not be reality for you. As a team, we split the miles for our pay averaging 5700-6300 for six days.
I started regional solo. At that time, and in the three months I spent doing that, I drove over 2000 miles only two weeks. Keep in mind, there is a learning curve when you first start. The GPS is not always reliable. sometimes the customer has a different sign on the front than the name given on your assignment. Also, you will have to develop time management in a different format than what is needed in may other jobs.
My first three months, I took home averaging $425 per week. It is a lot better than that now, but that should be your expectations for the first three months at least.
As I gained more experience, my miles got a little better in that three month period, but that is how I remember it.one37 Thanks this.
