    Hi I'm new to the industry just bought a 97 Freightliner 60 series. I was wondering how much do I pay my driver? Per mile? Or how much %?
    THANKS:biggrin_25516::biggrin_25511:

    Not being disrespectful, but if you have already bought the rig and do not know the answers to your questions, I recommend that you go ahead and write a check for everything that you have left in your bank account and hand it to your new driver. This will be easier on you than watching yourself lose it all over time.

    How good and loyal of a driver do you want? What's your cost per mile? What rate are you getting? You've got to know how much the truck is bringing in or can be expected to bring in before you know how much you can shell out. There are drivers all over that run for as little as 29ish cents per mile and on up to 40+ cents per mile and anywhere from 70-85+% of gross. You've just gotta figure out how much driver you want and how much you can offer to get the best.

    Do you have a driver lined up? Do you have experience? What made you want to start this business?

    Need way more information here to be able to even begin to answer that question--what is the truck doing?--how much work other than driving expected--how long gone? just for starters--I can only hope you didn;t just go buy a truck on a whim and have never done anything like this before--but if that IS the case--first thing in the morning--take it back wherever you got it and beg for your money back!

    A '97 Frtlnr ? You won't get any quality drivers applying for that job. Sorry, but that's the truth.

    depending on the truck--if it is in great shape i would much rather have a 97 than a 07

    I got it all figured out. I am going to sell my truck and trailer and spend my money on a How to book on owning big rigs and making the big bucks in trucking and then run late nite infomercials with a pretty sexy blonde in a bikini. I will show a fleet of fancy trucks with my name on them, a big mansion with a Rolls Royce parked in the drive, a yacht and a private jet just to show you what you could have after buying that first truck and with no experience. Just buy my book and how to kit for $295 and I will throw in a free book called "The Journey to Bankruptcy" at no extra cost. :biggrin_2559:
